PerfectExactly what I needed. I didn’t need a mallet to seal. I took a kitchen towel, folded it to protect my hands and gently applied force until the ring snaps in. I continued this in a clockwise direction until the ring was sealed completely. Easy peasy.

haven’t got to use it yet, but is very strong, heavy duty material.I see where people are having trouble getting their adapter rings on. I had no trouble at all. I unscrewed the lid from the ring, placed the ring on the bucket, then I placed both hands in one spot and pressed down until it snapped into place. Then I just went around the rim until it was all snapped into place. I didn’t time myself, but I had done all 3 buckets within 2 to 3 minutes. I’m a 5 ft. 4 inch 190 lb. 65 year old man. I’m short and stout, but I’m no Arnold Schwarzenegger by any means. It just takes a little muscle and determination.

Great BucketI just got these a day ago, and already I love them. I bought them fore storing my maple sap, but after getting them, I might use them for something else. They would be great force fishing as you can but your fishing gear inside nice and dry, and then have a seat when you get out there.

Excellent ProductI have 13 of these gamma lid buckets in the 5 gal and 3 1/2 gal sizes and they are much more adaptable and sturdier than the other types without the gamma lids

Exactly what I ordered.Going forward, and for storing long term preps, I’ve decided to go with the less expensive standard 5 gal buckets/lids PLUS a Mylar Bag that I can vacuum seal and place inside for that extra layer of protection. I made this decision after watching a comparison video on several 5 gal buckets and lids- this type of bucket/lid was included in the review. They all performed about the same so I can’t see using this lid on ALL buckets.That being said… these buckets are of great quality and you can’t beat the convenience of this lid for getting in and out of quickly for stuff you’re using now. I love them for that reason alone and I’ve used this type of bucket/lid successfully for over a dozen years now. These buckets/lids are great and everyone should have at least a few! I’d buy from this seller again.

Ring is very difficult to attach unless…These work great and I recommend them. Can’t give them five stars though because the ring for the lid is very hard to attach following their directions. I was concerned I would break it. I found by filling a sink with hot water from the tap and immersing the ring for 20-30 seconds I could easily snap it on the bucket. Add that tip to the directions (and correcting some typos) and I’d give them five stars.

Put LIDS in HOT WATER = easy installI feel so sorry for all the people having trouble getting slides on. I happened to have a really big distiller pot that was stainless steel but you could boil some water and put it in a larger tub or something like that if you needed to. Then you just place the ring part of the lid in the water for a few minutes. Take it out of the water, dry it off or shake it and then snap it down onto the bucket. Allowed to air dry. I also clean the surfaces with vinegar before use allowing to dry after. If you care how the X lines up be mindful of how you put the ring on. Line it up first again with both lid parts together and then unscrew the center part and then put the rim onto the white bucket and you’re good! Super easy. No problem.
