1. TOO SHORT TO USE?Use a pot with a drainage hole in the bottom. Place it on a saucer and fill it with moist planting soil. |
2. PLANT YOUR PENCILYou should plant your pencil at a 30º angle with only the capsule covered by soil. |
3. ADD WATER, SUNLIGHT & NUTRIENTSPlace the pot in a natural light, but avoid direct sunlight. A temperature of 20°C / 68°F is ideal. |
4. WATCH THE PENCIL GROWWater the sprouts regularly. The first shoots should appear one to four weeks later. |

A great little gift for eco-minded friends!I bought a box of these and gave them to the students I tutor, ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade that year. I like to theme my gifts around writing since that is the main subject I teach. I also don’t want to give them something cheap that they will just throw away. I saw these and thought they were perfect! Many of the girls do gardening anyway, and their families are environmentally aware. The pencils were very well-received, and the kids were excited to use that pencil for everything so it would wear down quickly, and they could plant their seed! This is such a neat idea and a perfect gift for anyone who uses a pencil in their work or hobbies!

Nothing bad to say!These are so cool! The concept is great, and it actually works! People who say it didn’t work most likely just did it incorrectly, or had to much sun or water or something. They make great gifts, my were used for Teacher Appreciation and everyone loved them! There is a great variety of flowers and spices, and it’s all for a good price! I also love that they work as a real pencil too!

These are amazingI love things that are little different. When I saw these I thought how cute! These came quickly and are clearly labeled with what will grow when the time comes. They write really well. I have not had issues with the lead breaking so far. I love that they are recyclable and will have something beautiful at the end of this.

Very nice pencilI’ve not used these to grow the herbs yet but the pencil part works great. Sometimes pencils get that split graphite part and I’ve NOT had the happen at all. That alone makes me give it high rating. Mixed with the cool grow part and it gets 5 stars from me.I’ll edit once the herbs start to grow.

Long lasting and great quality materialBought the pack about a year ago since I started having sinus irritations to the ink in regular pens. I figured I should try cleaner source materials instead and came across this product. Definitely a great quality product and very long lasting as well. My first pencil lasted about 9 months; from the daily continuous writing and sharpening too. I was actually impressed by the longevity in each pencil.
