   Good item, poor customer supportThe solar cooker worked well enough but has poor customer support.(+) one of the most efficient heating designs using parabola shaped reflectors to hear food in the tube tray at the fastest rate.(-) Awkward design that requires more food prep & cooking relatively smaller amounts of food at a time. If you want to cook food for more than 2 servings at a time, don’t use this model.Lack of customer support from Gosun is the worst. I accidentally broke the solar tube by adding water to the tube when it was still hot, making the inner heating tube explode. That’s on me, though I would appreciate if they made this warning more obvious like putting it as a separate warning paper in the packaging, especially since I read the whole manual and guides before using this product.As this was after the 1 yr warranty period, I looked if I could buy a replacement tube on Gosuns website. There was a replacement tube but it was sold out, so I signed up to receive a notice for when it would be available again. Months passed by, no notice. I directly emailed Gosun & was told they would get back to me. No response. More than a year has passed of me repeating this song and dance. After searching the website, I see they finally no longer offer the Gosun sport replacement tube for sale at all, and only have the Gosun go tube replacement. Now there’s no way for me to directly get the tube from Gosun. As the rest of the cooker setup is perfectly fine except for the tube, I don’t want to have to buy a whole new setup and throw away perfectly good parts.I find the lack of customer support is especially problematic for such a popular brand and solar gear company, especially since the company seems to be expanding its store and offerings, leaving their customers disappointed.

   It’s Fabulous!I love this oven so much I bought two! Bakes, roasts and steams fish, pork, beef, potatoes, veggies, breads, anything! Here in the photo I am roasting mushrooms/peppers/onions in one oven and baking a garlic biscuit baguette in the other. It is also great for travel and camping…all you need is the sun!

   ‘boiled’ eggs (as they call it) are a poor choice for the GoSun because you can’t tell when …So far I have cooked roasted eggs, fried eggs with toast, hot-dogs, brownies and boiled water with my GoSun. I live in Hawaii and did my tests at noon on clear summer days.I roasted two eggs for 30 minutes. I cracked one open, it was not even soft-boiled. I left the other one in for 15 more minutes, and it was somewhat overcooked. Really, ‘boiled’ eggs (as they call it) are a poor choice for the GoSun because you can’t tell when the egg is cooked properly.The next day, I put some butter in the tray and cracked two eggs into it, and rolled up two slices of bread. After 40 minutes and some not very graceful technique for unrolling the bread, I had some dry toast and eggs over-hard. Again, cooking was difficult because the cooking time isn’t known in advance, and you can’t see what you are cooking while it cooks. Overall I don’t think eggs are a good example for the GoSun and don’t recommend it.The next day I made some hot-dogs. This took 20 minutes, twice the time the booklet says. The hot-dogs turned out perfectly.Next, I made brownies. I used a high rated recipe for regular brownies on the internet. The brownies came out perfectly after cooking for 1 hour. The downside was they stuck to the pan and left particles in the tube so it had to be scrubbed. I should have put the batter in aluminum foil, but I wasn’t patient enough to line the tubular pan.Next, I wanted to test boiling water, but I saw a video that says not to boil water directly in the tube as it wears it out. I do not have a brewing insert (can you buy one?), so I made one with a red-bull can by burning off the plastic coating. I was able to boil water after 45 minutes in the sun, but the red-bull can didn’t hold enough water for a cup of tea.I also used a wireless thermometer to measure tempuratures inside the tube and food. I think this would be a must for cooking many items like meat to guarantee the food is safe to eat. I was able to get the tube up to 411 degrees while heating a rock, I think it would have gone hotter. I used a laser thermometer to measure the heat of the rock, and it was 350 degrees after about an hour. I took the GoSun out of the sun, but left it sealed and came back an hour later. The rock was still nearly 300 degrees, so the GoSun could work as a food warmer.I am not sure how many people will be able to get practical use from the GoSun stove. You need a very special use case in order to rationalize using it; for example, when flames are banned. Now, it only works at mid-day, so typically you are going to want to pick recipes that cook during the day and kept warm until eaten.

   Easy to travelWe are loving our Go Sun while traveling in our van. It is small enough to take. It cooks in 15-40 minutes, depending on sun and what you cook. We made omelets in 15 minutes. Fish with veggies is 25 on a cloudy day. We had steak with veggies in 35 minutes…probably should have removed it in 25. I line tray with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

   Pay attention to the size of the tray, doesn’t hold muchThere are a few options for solar ovens. Gosun has another option that has a bigger tray. If your planning on cooking for more than one person you need the bigger one. This tray will barely hold two sliced up chicken breasts and a few slices of vegetables. It works quite well in full sun, takes about an hour to cook thawed sliced meats so not that bad for solar.

   Great to have in consistent weatherThis product works surprisingly well in full sun and will cook veg or meat in around 40 minutes. It’s a little tricky to clean and store neatly but is free to run and should last for many years. The initial price is steep, though.

   Tolle Sache,wenn man weiß, dass das Gerät nicht zum Wasserkochen (Nudeln) gedacht ist, sondern Fleisch, Gemüse, Baguette in kurzer Zeit fabriziert.Je nach Flüssigkeitsgehalt des Garguts muss man sich das wie eine Mischung aus Braten und Dünsten vorstellen.Natürlich muss alles entsprechend klein geschnitten in die Röhre gegeben werden.Die Vakuumröhre ist aus Glas und sollte daher mit entsprechender Vorsicht behandelt werden.Meine Gerichte sind nach etwas Üben gut und schnell gelungen.Das Teil macht Spass und man verbraucht keine Ressourcen!

   cooks food really wellwell worth the money, can cook like 10 hotdogs at once and today the sun wasn’t very bright( lots of clouds) and still worked well, the outside was 0 C i also downloaded and app for my iphone what tracks the sun and it helps to position when clouds are blocking the sun.

   Le tube s’est brisé sous la chaleurLe 8 septembre 2021 j’ai commandé un barbecue solaire Gosun Sport.Jusqu’aujourd’hui, j’ai cuisiné quotidiennement avec cet outil. Il me donnait entière satisfaction.Mais cette après-midi, lors d’une utilisation courante (cuisson de courgettes), au bout de 20 minutes j’ai entendu un gros POC, puis j’ai constaté que le tube en verre avait explosé. Je suis vraiment triste car c’était un outil que j’appréciais grandement et qui me tenait beaucoup à cœur.Pensez-vous qu’il soit possible de faire fonctionner la garantie afin d’obtenir un nouveau four ou simplement de remplacer le tube en verre ?
