Great water heaterIt’s from the same organization as makes Rheem water heaters (which I was wondering previously). Takes a little bit of effort to install, but it’s completely worth it. My remote bathroom used to take 3 minutes to get hot water from the main water heater, now, it’s under a minute (I have it installed near my electrical subpanel, so it still has to traverse 20ish feet of pipe). It has more than enough oomph to power my shower with the shower head unrestricted. This is for Northern California weather, which is pretty mild, but ground water temps are likely to be in the 50F range during the winter and it’s more than enough to power my shower with hot water.

WorksIt was pretty easy to install. Both input and output leaked, but that was on me and my plumbing skills. I got it to stop leaking. Electrical was straight forward. No problems except the lights in the kitchen would flicker and dim when i turned on the hot water. That was easily fixed by replacing the dimmable leds with regular incandescent bulbs. The dimmable LEDs are sensitive to the voltage drop when the heater turned on. The water is very hot. Flow seems just a bit lower. But still way better then an old school stinking and rusting bladder type heater

Leaks…The water connections are tough to connect properly if your not a pro. Long story short the best way after talking to a few plumbers is use 1/2 copper pipe. Use the 2 brass nuts with the crush ferrules they are 1/2 inch and fit a 1/2 inch copper pipe perfectly. If you look at the water connectors closely you can see there’s a beveled edge on the inside rim. if you see a beveled edge on any water pipe that’s designed to use a compression connector. The compression nuts that come with the unit work good.Best to use a short length of 1/2 inch copper on the cold input then use a 1/2 cvps sharkbite to connect to pex or cvps or copper. If your house uses white pvc sched 40 sharkbite makes a cvps mustard color on one side of the sharkbite and a white sched 40 on the other. The output hot side its best to run a short 5 inch stub then sweat an 90 degree elbow on then run another length of copper to a 1/2 sharkbite connector. Use a longer copper length because that output pipe gets really freaking hot. Do not use washing machine flex those are not for really freaking hot lol water and they will leak anyway. The whole thing is a pain in the ass.The other must have is a real good water filter for you house main. No tankless water heater will be happy with unfiltered water. You would be shocked to see how much rust is coming into your house from the street. You cant just fill up a glass of water and look at it to see how clean your water is it does not work that way you must use a good filter then 90 days later look at how much rust it captures. I have a 10 inch dual big blue filter system on my house first stage is sediment and second stage is charcoal. I installed a big Ecosmart tankless about 10 years ago and have not had one issue with it.I change my filters every 90 days lots of rust in my town. The picture is the sediment filter after 90 days.Yours may be even worse. But you can’t lose with a good filter system your faucets and pipes wont rust.

Excellent product however, there were missing partsThese things are great. I installed the exact same model 10 years ago for my entire house and it worked great even with two showers running at the same time. I am glad I got 10 years out of it since nothing is built to last anymore but I was a little dissapointed that there were parts missing during the installation. The wire bracket which holds the wire tight in the unit was not there and part of the wire inlet grommet was missing. My original one came with a 2 foot section of wire that was pre-wired into the unit. The one I just received did not come with any wires. I am not sure if it was supposed to or not but fortunately I had my old one to take the missing parts from. If this was a brand new installation I would have been much more upset about it. Other than that, the unit itself out performs any of the other units I have seen that also run off of a single 60 amp breaker and it is very small. The temperature can be turned up to 140 however I have always keep the dial around 112 and that seems to be the perfect spot. Hopefully this helps someone.

Wish the thing actually worked.Worked great for about 2-3weeks. Then it started making a humming noise the manual said could be expected. Then it stopped entirely. We are a 3 heated water faucet household with only 2 people. No dishwashers, no laundry machines just two sinks and a bathtub in our little cottage. The demands placed on this were not unreasonable. The initial contact with the repair technician was helpful and polite, she send me the wires for the temperature regulator and suggested I disconnect the old wires to see if that would work. No children in this house, so it seems safe enough. The heaters continued producing water for approximately 12 hours. Then ice cold. After waiting another 3 weeks for the part to be delivered I installed the new wires and still it didn’t work. I was instructed to use a voltammeter to check the heater. These aren’t your typical house owner requests and I’m fortunate to have an electrician for a neighbour or I would have to be paying a professional their asking wage to accomplish this. They wanted Oms and Voltage. I acquired both and hooked up the old water tank in the meantime to ensure we still had hot water. Upon calling to report my findings the next technician requested I obtain another reading with the water running again. I informed her I had already acquired the reading prior to calling. She then asked if I had performed “Routine maintenance.” When I inquired what the routine maintenance is on a only now 6 week old unit. She dropped that topic. Everything about this feels like a goose chase, I asked about the possibility of this being a lemon unit and the possibility of a replacement as I do actually want the tankless system, not the monster hot water tank. Her response was only if I had filled out the warranty registration online and reconnected the water lines. This is now twice I’ve had to empty and then move the hot water tank just to try to get this unit running. A month of waiting for parts and when I followed the original instructions For obtaining the voltage readings BEFORE disconnecting the hot water tank I was told to do it again and ensure I had registered the product online as they didn’t receive the paper warranty registration. Should’ve bought locally so I could return this, but Amazon only gave me 3 days after delivery for a return window. Very disappointing overall.

Excellent Product for the price!! Easy Install, and FAST SHIPPING! A++Bought this tankless water heater for my grandparent’s house. I was able to set it up myself with no issues, and it’s been running for over 6 months now with no problems at all! Great unit! Would definitely suggest people buy this! If you want an endless supply of hot water, and a power bill that’s cut down by 3/4 then buy this unit!
