What a bright light in the darknessFor many years we had a similar light used in camping and emergencies until we lost our electrical power during a storm late last year. As usually happens during the night, the house was dark and confusing until we got the candles burning. But candles don’t give much light (and aren’t especially safe for holding and walking around the house) and the handheld personal flashlights we had were only good for showing what’s directly in front of you. These lights give visibility to an entire room and their portable nature, with no hot bulbs or flames, provides safety and flexibility. We especially appreciate the three levels of light intensity.

Lights up an entire roomGreat lantern! Used it when had a power outage. Lit up the entire room. It was great! I bought 3 more afterwards. Plan to buy more for holiday gifts. Very bright, very easy to use and has 3 different levels of brightness. Great item at a good price.

Great lantern for the price!I really like this lantern and the adjustable brightness settings and the ability to charge devices. I would like to get one that is Rechargeable! The 6 D batteries do last quite a while if you get quality batteries.

Great Back Up Light Source!We have now used this battery-operated lantern a couple of times. It works very well. We really appreciate the warm glow of the light and the 3 different brightness settings. Plus, even with all six batteries in place, it is not heavy. In fact, it is well balanced and easy to carry around. Honestly, we prefer to this battery version to the propane powered one we’ve had for years. It’s good to know we have both though.UPDATE: We like this lantern so much we bought a second one.

Very bright. Recommend.We have one that we got at Costco years ago. We love it and even though it takes a ton of D batteries, we’ve not had to change them often and it’s been years.There was a threat of a hurricane recently, so I wanted to see if I could find a couple more. When looking, I found these on Amazon and ordered one, thinking not only for the house, but to take camping.It is really, really bright, and has 3 levels. The handle had a clip, so you can open it, then close it if you wanted to put it around a pole/branch, etc.We also bought 4 of the small versions of these. Love them all.Price is right. Great lanterns

Good light outputI like the lantern but the outside case is plastic and feels a little cheap. I was hoping for a more solid case.

Very bright light with 3 brightness settings.The light is very bright, which is nice, but it also has three levels of brightness, which is a great added feature if you want a dimmer light on. It was very awkward getting the bottom of it open to put the batteries in, and even worse trying to twist it back on, getting it to lay evenly, but I eventually did it. It takes 6 D batteries, but it has the ability to work only using 3. So far I’m loving it. I have it hanging on a hook in my bathroom & I use it when I take a shower since there is no light back there. Kinda strange reason to have it, but it works for me. I rent this house, so there’s not much else I can do about it.
