Motion SensorPurchased primarily to light area for the dogs. The motion detector works fine when set off by an adult, however our small dogs do not activate the light when they are close. If I turn the lights down so the motion detector works with the dogs the light area is significantly reduced.

Bright light, Good motion detection, Easy to install. Great valueAfter an attempted break-in one night I realized there were areas around the house that were in darkness and provided hiding spots. I’m totally off grid and the house is solar powered, so I minimized outside ighting to keep the battery drain at nights as low as possible, plus it’s a pain to run wires everywhere.These solar powered lights looked to be the answer, low cost, would not drain my house batteies as they were self contained and seemed easy to install and could be directed. Another feature that was attractive was the three settings, with the dim light that brighted on movement detection being the one I thought would be most useful. So I ordered a two pack, which came well packed and worked with no problems right out of the box.These units don’t weight very mush, so installation can be made just about anywhere. You don’t need to put it on heavy construction. Installation is via a supplied bracket and screws and wall anchors are included. I was able to put up the two units in abut 30 minutes. I had left them in the sun for a day before using them, as recommended, and when I came to try them I was impressed. They turn on when the sun goes down, and as I set them for the dimm light permanantly on I found the light level to be adequate to show everything enough to be seen from inside the house. No more hiding spots.When the lights are triggered by the motion detector they go to full bright, which is surprisingly bright for the size. It’s good for moving around outside, and will also alert prowlers that they’ve been noticed. The range of the motion detector is very good, and the one I put over the front porch detects vehicles, bikes and even pedestrians walking past the house. It stays bright of about 15 seconds and then reverts to the low light. For me that’s fine, as if I’m moving around it stays on untill I leave.After installing the two lights and using them for a couple of weeks I ordered two more to cover some additional areas. I really like them.So far all pros, but there is one con. I gave installation only 4 stars, not because it’s difficult, it’s not, but I found that the mounting brackets did not always click on to the light. You are supposed to install the bracket and then drop the light onto it where it should click and latch in place. Of the four lamps only one bracket latched. The others allowed the lamp to be lifted off the bracket without dpresing the locking tab. In the end I installed two of them without the bracket, which you can do by directly screwing them onto the wall. Just make sure you have a long screwdriver, or screwdriver bit extension in your drill so you don’t damage the lights. Other than that, excellent product and great value.

Buy severalEasy to mount. I question the speed at which they detect motion. A fast guy would be outta sight already. Pretty bright, but don’t reach as far as I would like hence by several.

On the side of my house will catch cars passing by which I really like. Will turn off if you aren’t moving enough (ie throwing out trash in a bin), but turn back on after a few seconds delay. Mine are about 10-12 feet up and catch motion in a pretty wide range – cars in street are about 25 feet away, will catch me under it at about 10 feet away. The larger the motion, the quicker it turns on but will definitely catch a person slowly moving past it.

Easy to installMy locations of where I put it one gets lots if sun and the other one doesn’t really but they both work great. One is on my garage and other one on the edge of my roof when I drive in my driveway. I love that they both go on at the same times works well.

Solar security lightsThe light works great. I wish it detected motion further out, however it does detect it and come on automatically. Has three different settings for lights and it’s been working fine.
